Heart Envelopes

We love hearts in our designs, so it felt fitting to make a heart envelope for our 19th anniversary issue. Print off our template, write a nice note to a loved one inside, and fold it up into a heart to give away. (Might we suggest a thank you to a teacher?) Bonus: Gift cards fit perfectly inside, and these could also be great for table setting place cards! Get ready to make a heart envelope!

Supplies:

Template
Scissors
Pen or pencil for writing your note

Cut along the dotted lines to get the template down to size (take the side cuts all the way up to the end of the paper).

The page will look like this once it’s cut down to size.

Fold the paper in half the long way. Make your folds have strong creases throughout the project.

Take the bottom right corner and fold it up across to the left side, like above.

Okay, I forgot to write my note first, so I wrote mine at this point in the project. You could write yours any time after you’ve cut off the edges of the template!

Fold the red end up to the tip of the fold arrow (pointed out with the pen in the photo above). Make a good crease.

Flip the project over.

Fold the right and left corners to meet in the center.

Flip the project over again.

Roll the top over the red point…

…So the tips of the other side stick up like this.

Crease down the top and make it into a triangle. Do the same on the other side.

Like above.

Fold the opposite corners down (we’re forming the tops of the heart).

Now fold the tips of these triangles down.

Flip the project over. Look at the cute heart!

Open the project up and slightly fold along the original half fold. Cut a small slit along the last dotted line (this is where the heart bottom will tuck in).
