Eleanor and Tip Bagstad were both born on Norwegian-speaking farmsteads in the coulees of Vernon County, WI. Eleanor recalls the farm life, and playing piano, as well as playing “teacher” with her 8 siblings. Tip grew up in Timber Coulee, and farmed his whole life, in addition to “2 or 3 other jobs… always”.
